Experimental poetry at the intersection of science and modern mythology, Lunar Flag Assembly Kit chronicles the several symbols of human presence left standing on the moon. This project approaches feats of engineering, physical impermanence, and the politics of space exploration through visual poetry, erasure, and modularity to play with the ongoing legacy of the Apollo program.
Lunar Flag Assembly Kit was first published in a very limited edition by The Blasted Tree in 2016, including several visual poems and the summary poem "Lunar Flag Assembly Sonnet." A revised version of Lunar Flag Assembly Kit was published in 2017 by No Press highlighting the seven central poems corresponding to NASA's seven moonshot missions.
