Weaving Accounts and related artworks were made in the summer of 2022 from paper materials collected while working my day job at a bookstore. The primary materials used include thermal paper covered in a chaos of letters, symbols, and printer diagnostics spat out at random by the store's receipt printer, sometimes in the middle of night, and my biweekly pay stubs cut into paper strips, similar to those produced by a paper shredder. These artworks explore the papertrails of small business operations, hourly-rate employment, and commonplace retail technologies, recontextualizing 'waste' and 'value' in a gesture toward the absurdity of artmaking as a working class person.
